Every move of God begins with prayer. Before a church ever gathers in a room, it is first gathered in prayer.
How to Pray for Verdant City Church:
1. Protection for Their Marriage and Family
Church planting strains the home before it grows the house. Pray for unity, joy, health, rest and resilience in Peter and Kari's marriage and for covering over their children. Pray against burnout, discouragement, and isolation. (Psalm 127:1)
2. Clear Vision & Holy Boldness
Pray that God sharpens their vision and gives them the clarity and courage to lead with confidence. Pray for clarity in doctrine, direction and decisions. (Habakkuk 2:2)
3. The Right Core Team (Not Just More People)
Numbers don't build churches, faithful people do. Pray God gathers the right families, servants, leaders, givers and intercessors to form a strong and unified core team. Pray for unity, humility, and shared mission among the team. (Acts 2:47)
4. Provision for Every Practical Need
Church plants die from lack of provision. Pray for finances, facilities, favor with landlords, vendors, and city leaders, and wisdom in every logistical decision. Pray against debt traps, rushed decisions, and financial strain. (Philippians 4:19)
5. Open Doors In East Boise
Pray for spiritual hunger in the region. Pray that hearts are prepared before doors are ever opened. Pray for divine appointments, open conversations, and real conversions. Pray for families, prodigals, and the lost of East Boise to be drawn in by the Holy Spirit. (Acts 16:14)
6. Power, Not Just Programs
Pray that Verdant City Church would be marked by the presence and power of the Holy Spirit. Not just excellence, strategy, or good systems. Pray for annointing, presence, salvations, baptisms, healings, deliverance, and genuine discipleship. (Zechariah 4:6)
7. Spiritual Protection & Authority
Every new work of God faces resistance. Pray for protection from spiritual attack, division, distraction, harassment, and discouragement. Pray that they lead with spiritual authority and supernatural favor. (Ephesians 6:10-18)
8. Faithfulness to the Long Game
Pray they don't grow weary, but have renewed strength. Pray for steady obedience, long term faithfulness, and deep roots. Pray for fruit that lasts, not just a strong launch. (Galatians 6:9)
